Fall 2008 Commentary: Accelerate Consumption: Is this the answer to global economic meltdown (and global warming)?

The holiday season approaches, a time of festive good will. Or is it “goods” will make them festive? Let the shopping spree begin. But how, when the economic meltdown and job loss have drained pockets? The current answer is print more greenbacks to infuse billions in bailouts to mismanaged banks so they can loan money to us paupers, so we can spend, spend, spend our way to happy holidays and a bright future ahead.
